And Another Thing... (About the title)

I didn't stick with my original title (Don't Panic) for long.  I didn't think it was very catchy.  I wanted to stick with the Hitchhikers Guide theme because Douglas Adams is probably my favorite author.  I just so happened to stumble upon this title.  And Another Thing... is the title of the upcoming sixth installment in the Hitchhiker's "trilogy"  it is being written by Eoin Colfer who has had great success with the Artemis Fowl novels.  The title actually comes from a line in So Long and Thanks for All the Fish, "The storm had now definitely abated, and what thunder there was now grumbled over more distant hills, like a man saying "And another thing…" twenty minutes after admitting he's lost the argument."  Colfer was asked by Jane Belson, Adams' wife to write this sixth installment since Adams' himself is dead.  I hope that Colfer can do justice to the rest of the series.  It is a bit unsettling to see a series that you love completed by an author that isn't the original author of the series.  There's no doubt that there was supposed to be another installment, before his death Adams' said that he did not want the hitchhikers series to end with Mostly Harmless because the ending is quite bleak.  It is unfortunate that Adams himself couldn't complete the series, but I have confidence in Eoin Colfer's ability to capture Douglas's unique style.  Let's just hope he does a good job.

And Another Thing... is due to be released October 12, 2009
